Last thoughts of the year

I actually have no idea how to start at all.

Seeing as today is the last day of 2008, and tomorrow, the words "last year" and "yesterday" can essentially mean the same thing, I should really have lots of things to talk about.
I know, the last day of the year is always time for people to go about writting/thinking/reflecting sappy (and horribly cheeeeesy) thoughts about how thankful they are for having had such a great year.

Well, I am not.
Going to write a sappy post I mean. (Because I suck at them. Really I do.)

Neither am I going to conjure up half a million New Years' resolutions, because I don't see any point in them.
Why only make promises (which, frankly, you'll probably break anyway) to yourself only on the New Year?
If we were really resolved in making a change somewhere in our lives, we would have gone about with them long time ago. Or at least, not bothered waiting for this whole new year just to start working on them.

I guess it goes along with the thought that a whole new year would mean a whole new start.
That essentially is the whole point isn't it?

But since such a day comes by not too often, I shall indulge in this merry making just because. :D
Isn't it hard to believe that we're already entering into 2009 just barely after we have acquainted ourselves with 2008?
What happened to that moment, when 2008 sounded so foreign and new?

It actually is a weird thought, to imagine that while I am celebrating the arrival of 2009 here, other countries are still partying the last hours of 2008 away.
Which, you know, makes the very idea of New Year celebrations quite silly.
I mean, it is merely what we perceive it to be isn't it?
Technically, I can happily count down to New Year here in Melbourne, immediately fly over to Perth, and count down to New Year there again.

To me, a new calender year always meant with a new school year.
They always came together hand in hand, and it wasn't particularly a pleasant thought.
But for some reason, I find myself looking forward to school reopening soon.
Of course, I won't be singing the same song when this dream really does become a reality, but... I don't know.
It seems too long ago that I even wore my school uniform.
I think this is the longest vacation I've ever been on (other than the super long break after O levels which is not really counted because technically, it wasn't really school holidays. We were just sitting around bitting our nails in anticipation for our results.) and I'm relatively content with it.
To think I've been slacking around for two whole months, and I still have one more month left to enjoy!

I think school is the only ever constant factor in our lives, and no matter how much we hate it at times, we can't ignore it.
Without school, our lives slip into a monotony so unbearable that eventually I get sick of staring into the computer all day long.
Even our holidays are ruled by schools! (In my case, it is beacuse I constantly think about all the homework that I am happily ignoring, and dreading the time when I can't pretend it's non-exsistence any longer)

So 2009 will bring with it an unbearably challenging year ahead, what with the potential long term stress that would inevitably be inflicted upon us with all those dreaded SACs and the ultimate VCE.
But I guess we can all take comfort in the fact that everyone is suffering along with us too! :D

So here's to a great (and stress-filled) 2009 ahead! Of course, 2009 will definitely be as fulfilling (or even more so) as 2008 had been. :D

Ps. Imagine! The next time I'll be blogging will be next year!

Tuesday, December 30

Leap seconds?

I realised that it will actually take quite a while to reach 1000 posts.
Even if I post once every single day next year, it'll still only be 865 posts by the end of 2009. (which, actually, is so not very possible anyway because hello. Year 12. I think I'll be digging my own grave if I am still hogging the computer the day before VCE)

Which.. you know, means that I still have a very long way to go. D:

Heheeeeeeeee only one more day of 2008 left!
There's something magical about a whole new year, although technically, it's just 2 days from this moment.
AND there's a leap second this year!
Okay fine, it doesn't sound that special, I mean, it'll only be significant if all the clocks in the world are synchronized and we all feeeeeeeeeel the extra second together.
Not that it's that long, but ANYWAY.

Let's all revel in the awesomeness of leap seconds.

It had recently come to my attention that I have many many many emails to reply to, and I feel guiltyyyyy that I really can't find the inspiration to write much long letters/emails anymore.
I think the Christmas card writing marathon has dissolved all my motivation to write anything.

Have you ever had to write 10+ cards all in one day???
And I'm not talking about cards where you just write a "Dear (insert name), Merry Christmas! Love, (insert name)".
I actually wrote long long long long cards okay. :D (I'm a lean mean... crapping machine?)

Seriously, I'm scarred.

Indecisions

I couldn't decide whether to change to Wordpress or Blogger, so I did what Professional Tarriers always do when such situations arise.

I postpone the decision.

My initial thought was that new year would mean new blog, but since there has been much difficulty in choosing where to establish my new home blog, I decided that I shall wait until http://www.just-lynn.blogspot.com/ reaches 1000 posts before I move somewhere else.
(Incidentally, I'm at... OH! I'm halfway through now! Lalalala. 500th post today!)

It really is an Unwritten Law, that when you anticipate something, it will NEVER EVER happen.
I opened the letterbox about a million (no really, I'm exaggerating) times in the morning, since I knew that Eileen's card should have arrived by today.
And there was not a single letter in the letterbox.
So I finally gave up and GUESS WHAT.
A few hours later, the postman came right to my doorstep with a stack of letters, containing three of them addressed to me. :DDDD

Vanessa's words have superrr powers, because she just mentioned her card to me today, and it appeared! Heheeeee.

I feel like doing lots of tags all of the sudden.
Anyone has any fun ones?
I'm now on a hunt for nice tags.

The last resort

It is a universal fact that tags are for people who have absolutely nothing to blog about.
So there you go.

I'm resorting to tags now.

Seasons of love

MERRY CHRISTMAS! :DDDDDD

So much for my excitement to be posting on the 25th for the first time.
I actually don't have anything in particular to say.

We went to Traralgon for a while this morning.
All train services were free today, and we thought we might try taking the Vline service for once.
And for some weird reason, the train seats were superrrrrr comfortable! (:
Probably even more so than the Qantas plane that I took last year. (although the plane ride was highly uncomfortable probably because I had to stuff many many bags under my seat)

Hehehehe there really wasn't anything much we could do there actually.
Or anywhere for that matter.
Since Christmas is like the mother of all holidays and EVERY SINGLE SHOP/BUSINESS is closed, it looked more like a ghost town.
Seriously, there was practically no cars on the road for the first half of the day.

In addition, the temperature was so high that I couldn't even stand walking in the sun anymore.
It was burning.
Australia must be the only country in the whole world that spends Christmas in the BLINDING HOT SUMMER.
It's so annoying.

I sorta miss the bright and shiny (and quite overwhelming :) Christmas lightings in Singapore!
I seem to be seeing pictures of nice and pretty Orchard Road on everyone's blog la!
Although this quiet and subtle Christmas is still sort of a nice change.
You can feel the change, how everyone is at home and spending time with their families and everything.

OH this reminds me: A brand new shining car appeared at my neighbour's house today.
Brand new car for Christmas! Can you believe that?
Eeeeee I want a car too :D

My blogskin is now horribly outdated. D:
I actually love the pictures, and really can't be bothered finding a nice new skin.

Maybe I should just leave this skin until like, Chinese New Year of something.
That would be so cool okay.

(I actually feel like changing url/blog. Or maybe moving to Wordpress or something?
The passwordy posts sound super fun!)

For Tienyi (:

I decided to turn over a new leaf.
No more tarrying! (for today) :D

I'm not really good with words, so this won't be a very grand and sappy post filled with bombastic (and well, sappy) words. So here goes!

First of all, I would like to wish her a very Happy (and 100000x early) 18th Birthday! :D We have already agreed that she likes people to wish her in advance right? So I have this really great idea. If I wish 364 days in advance, I shall always be the earliest (and therefore the nicest) person on Earth. :D

Here's to someone who came over and introduced herself happily as Tinny to Shireen and me on the first lesson of the very first day of school this year while we stood around waiting for Ms Splatt to arrive. It actually was very exciting to meet someone can find the humor in poems about procrastination just as much as I do. All those times we panicked over English homework on MSN the night before they are due, it was quite hilarious now that we think about it (although at that time we all claimed that we were going to die a horrible death under mskry's horrible horrible... speeches of "You didn't do your work? I'm disappointed in you" although she had already claimed that she doesn't care whether we do the homework. All these reverse psychology tricks are very sneaky (and VERY useful) if you think about it and being the kiasu Asians (Singaporean/Malaysian) we are, we fell for her tricks straight away. They ARE very traumatic okay.

But I digress.

I WON'T EVER FORGET THAT YOU DITCHED ME FOR ESL! D: But of course, you're very much forgiven because you have already willingly agreed to engage in very intellectual discussions about Shark Net and Kite Runner with me. I knew you read them in preparation for all these exciting sessions where we exchange our bountiful knowledge about the books! Hehehe.

Thanks for being an awesome buddy/friend/classmate/companion/mate/pal/neighbour/partner-in-crime (said crime being not listening in certain classes) for this whole past year. It's really fascinating to think that I was actually "linked" to you even before I came here. Doesn't that make us just fated to meet each other? :D Just for this once, I shall admit that you have indeed been a very major influence to my blog and caused me to start posting massive photo filled blogs which I would never have done so in the past. (which makes the very idea that a blog post about you and your birthday being strangely devoid of any and all photos very very ironic). Oh, not to forget, thanks also for letting us destroy your house (and trick your friends on MSN) yesterday although you really shouldn't be the one cleaning up your house since it's YOUR special day and should be treated like the Queen. Sort of.

But most of all, thanks for being you! :D

Have a great trip back to Malaysia, and buy back lots and lots and lots of presents back for me! I know you love me too much to resist.

Happy Birthday (+ Merry Christmas + Happy New Year) Tienyi!

Ps. Before I forget, you should be very pleased to learn that you are the first person to hit the maximum of my MSN Chat Log.

Special days indeed

Today is actually Tienyi's birthday so......

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIENYI! <3

I would actually dedicate a nice and long birthday post to you, seeing that you are eagerly awaiting my photo-less post (thanks to the no-photo policy that we somehow agreed on, although we are photo/blog obsessed people who can't resist blogging about such a bloggable event) but I wouldn't want to mar it with such gloom that I am feeling today. D:

So I shall take a raincheck! After all, belatedness gives an element of specialness. And being the Masters of Procrastination, what better time than now is there to showcase our skills? :D So, for now, here's just a bigggg HAPPY 17th for you, and let's just hope that your birthday post appears before you finish the chocolate bars and/or the bubble bottles!

I do hope you enjoyed spending your first day as a 17 year old together with us (watching a movie with quite dreadful subtitles :)

It actually feels like there are so many things I want to say, but they are stuck somewhere in me, and I have no idea where to start from.
Let's just say, today marks exactly a year.

Funny how time can seem to pass so fast, but unbelievable-ly slow at the same time. Is half the wait already over, or has it only been a year? Somehow, I actually dreaded today. Really I did. To actually put the label "A Year" to all these time that has passed makes it seem so... final. Distant. Isn't 12 months, 52 weeks, 525600minutes exactly the same? Why do they sound so different then? It makes me feel like all those people who bump into old friends on the road and exclaim that they haven't seen each other for ten years. It makes me wonder... Will it ever be the same? With each passing day, I feel myself drifting further and further away from the life that used to be. I feel the potential discomfort rising up in me. I feel guilty that I don't have faith.

I think about how this time last year, I was saying my goodbyes to the most wonderful people that I have met, not even knowing when the next time I could see them would be. I think of how the last time I saw everyone at the airport was exactly a year ago and, I don't know, and it makes me really really sad.

I know now that I can never go back and live the same way again. I am really glad for everything and everyone that I have come to know in the past year. It's weird to think that I can never live as comfortably in Singapore again. Nothing can ever be as familiar as before can it?

Under the stars

This is quite a long post.
Have fun. (:

SATURDAY 20TH DEC

So we woke up bright and early on Saturday morning, and set off for Ballarat with the car trunk filled to the brim with sleeping bags, clothes, food etc. etc.

I brought my Twilight along! :D
I was actually already really close to finishing the book, they were already playing baseball, and I wanted to finish it before I forgot the story by the time I came back.
But somehow, I left it in the same bag as some caramel cake and it got slathered with caramel all over.

Now Edward smells like caramel.
Isn’t that even better?
He looks and smells great.

Anyway, so we reached our home away from home for the weekend – Eureka Stockade Holiday and Caravan Park.

Well, we didn’t exactly have a caravan (How cool would that be?!) but we had a tent and they provided us with camping sites.
Actually, “camping” would mean sleeping in the middle of the forest, cut off from all civilization and not having any facilities with us at all.
But this was more like a chalet actually, because there were toilets, shower rooms, laundry rooms, game rooms and even electricity plugs.
We could have brought our microwave oven over and still used it.

But no matter.
At least here we would have absolutely no chance of meeting a wild boar from the forest trying to eat us.

So it was time to set up the tent!
It was so cool okay.

First it was totally flat on the floor.

Then we had the skeleton.

After which, we covered it up with the nice and pretty skin and….

Viola! Nice and huge tent for us to sleep in comfort. (:

(This picture was taken at night, long after we put the tent up. We did NOT take the whole day to set it up. :D)

It was tall enough for me to stand in too!
Which is quite good actually, because it will be quite horrible if I got a tent which was only 1 metre in height, I’ll practically be crawling inside the whole time.

Anyway, our first destination was Sovereign Hill!
It’s practically the only major attraction in Ballarat.
It is like the Sentosa of Singapore, except well, it wasn’t as big. And it wasn’t an island.

Sovereign Hill was actually a small “town” that they had built totally from scratch, using old photos as references.

It was made to look like a town from the 1800s, when the Gold Rush first started there.
It was actually really pretty in real life, and the photos don’t do it justice.
Since we’re such amateur photographers and all.

There were people wearing traditional costumes walking around everywhere, but I didn’t get a chance to take photo with them. ):
We caught a group of soldiers marching around, but they don’t even march as well as our UGs from BBSS so it wasn’t very attractive. :D

Like I said, there aren’t that many substantial photos, so all these random ones will do.

First, we watched the pouring of gold into a rectangular mould.

Look at the RED HOT LIQUID gold, it is damn cool okay.
Although I didn’t really get to see it because I was busy aiming my camera at the person.

The molten gold solidified in seconds, and here he is! Holding it!

We saw the blacksmith at work....

Horse carriages.

The bakeries.

Oh, I saw this poster pasted somewhere, next to this giant weighing machine and found it quite amusing. :D

They had the Blood on the Southern Cross show at night, and frankly, I was quite surprised because there was not a SINGLE person acting in the show.
It was purely lights and sounds in an outdoor space, although it IS quite a nice idea, but it got kind of draggy in a while.
Some of the effects were quite cool though.

SUNDAY 21ST DEC

Headed over to the Gold Museum (admission to which came together with the Souverign Hill ticket) first thing in the morning, where we drooled all over the gold displayed there.
I mean, it is called a Gold Museum, so everything there was shiny and… yellowy?
They had displays of the largest gold nuggets ever found, gold coins, gold everything.

Largest natural gold nugget ever found in the whole world.
It is called Welcome Stranger.

Some other nuggets, about which I didn't bother to read about at all.
I only like Welcome Stranger.

These were some of the paintings of the 1850 era that was displayed there and they were really nice. :D

OH HAHAHAHAHA there was this small section of the museum where they promoted some organization, and they had displays of the member countries.
AND SINGAPORE WAS INSIDE.
Check out the Singapore national costume:

The dress looks kinda weird and nothing like what the SIA air stewardess wear okay.
HAHAHAHA.

Next, we went to this Australian Ex-Prisoners of War Memorial in the middle of some random park somewhere.

We happened to pass by it while driving around anyway.
So they had this humongous slab of rock where they printed the names of every single ex-POW.

It was quite exciting to see that there was a Lynn there (although I am aware that it’s not actually very nice to have my name as an ex-war prisoner but who cares. That’s my name printed on a national memorial.)

The last place we went was Kryal Castle.

It even had a moat and all!

It was quite disappointing because I thought it would be like those huge castles in England but it turned out to be relatively tiny.
But it was still cool because I got to be the King (Queen) for the day! (More like for the minute actually but whatever. Details are unnecessary :)

There were actually a lot of rooms and displays inside, but as with Sovereign Hill, they don't look as nice in the photos as in real life.
Hehehehe.

So with this, we concluded out camping trip to Ballarat with a flourish, and rode home with our gleaming white horses. :D

Heh heh. :D

Sunday, December 21

Hello

I'm back!
I was at Ballarat camping by the way. :D

I might probably blog about the past two days at some point, but for now the only thing that actually looks remotely appealing to me is my bed..... and probably my Twilight book.
I didn't get any chance to read it the whole weekend, and I had chosen the most horrible place to leave the story hanging - Bella has just decided to meet the bad guy and it's like, the whole plot climax of the book and I've left it off so long that the excitement has already faded to a dull. D:

Not to mention, the number of photos we took in total were like 300.
HAHAHAHA scaryyy I know, but alot are random and repetitive and I obviously WON'T upload all of them.
(Only crazy lunatics who have too much time on their hands would do so and it would be a nightmare arranging them all. The post will probably only appear in about a year's time)

Ahahaha it's time to let Bella finally go and meet her death happily, so till tomorrow..... Actually I'll probably only manage to post it on Wednesday, but Wednesday will be occupied by the activities of Tuesday so... erm.

Have fun waiting. :D

Chocolate heaven

I am inclined to say that I have no idea what the reason behind this inexplicable gloom that has descended over me is.

But that would be denial.

Remember what we was happening 525600 minutes ago and you would be on the right track.

Yes, the Toblerones in the second last row are the original normal sized ones.

Even this amount of chocolate would not be able to lift this cloud away. D:

In case you can't see what the notice says, it says that the 4.5kg Giant Toblerone is indeed one real solid chocolate inside, and not individually packed small Toblerones lumped together.
Its price is already reduced from the last time I saw it. It is now only $80.

Twilight!

YAYYYYY I BOUGHT TWILIGHT!
*lights up whole house with bright smile*

I actually wanted to buy the book with the original cover (with the apple) but they didn't have it!
So I had no choice but to get the one with the movie poster cover.
Although Edward graces the cover happily for me to stare at all day, he doesn't look nice in it lor! D:

But ANYWAY, it's still as nice and pretty and awesome as it can ever be!
Heeeeeeeeeeeee :D

Birthday Vibes

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOUNGMIN! <3
Although she won't see this will she's back, she will totally get my Birthday Vibes via ESP or something. Hehehehe.

-

You know, I am actually very very very tempted to read the Twilight eBook that Cheryl sent me just now, but people keep telling me to update and I decided, oh well. I have abandoned this blog long enough.

So today was the unofficial Movies Day!
Although, technically, it can't really be counted because we only managed to watch two movies AND there were only 5 people present.
But Movie Day it is then.

So 4 very excited movie-goers sauntered over to Irene's house, not deterred by the rain.
(Really, the rain is getting quite annoying. It rains EVERY SINGLE DAY that we decide to go out)
We were so very eager to have been the first visitors to arrive at her house ever since she came back from Singapore and she also very excitedly cleaned the house very thoroughly just for our visit.

The first movie we watched was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Yes, it's quite a mouthful.
It's about this couple who goes through this horrible quarrel, and decide that they hate each other.
So, they both decide to go and erase their memories totally of their two year relationship. (with this fictional non-surgical procedure where their heads get covered with those overhead things you see in hair salons and their brain is scanned and stuff)

Personally, I found it quite a freaky concept, that one would choose to erase totally their memories of a certain event/person.
But for some odd reason, Tienyi found it romantic.
This, from a person who found walking in a thunderstorm romantic, is of course not very surprising.

Okay fine.

The plot line about how they still met each other again even after their memories got erased is sort of romantic.
But I still don't like the concept of erasing memories! ):

Andddddd guess what the other movie we watched was!! :DDDDD

I Not Stupid!

Hehehehehe so cool right?
It gave Irene, Tienyi and me a chance to get in touch with that Singlish/Manglish side in us, and also let Richa and Fiona soak in the Wonderful World of Singlish.

Incidentally, after I came home, I was telling Eileen (my primary school classmate) about watching I Not Stupid and she told me that Young (and Stupid) Lynn had actually written "I Not Stupid" and "Lilo and Stitch" as her favourite movies in her autograph book.
To think I had actually said that before in my life is actually quite a horrifying thought.
I mean, LILO AND STITCH?!
But I was 11 years old, and whatever brainless things said at the young and tender age of 11 should always be ignored.

Anyway, now I really want to watch I Not Stupid 2!
I remember how sad it was, although I don't really remember the story at all, other than the ending part where the father rolls down the overhead bridge and hits his head and the son cries and everything.
But.. yeah. I want to watch it.

Tienyi had to leave immediately after the movie, but the rest of us stayed and talked.
It was really nice okay, we were talking for like.. 2 hours?
Haha we were actually sitting in the room for the first hour.
Then Fiona went home and Richa and I came out into the living room also intending to go but the three of us ended up talking near the doorway for another hour.

What talkative people we are.

Now I totally get how guests can say that they are leaving, but end up talking at the lift landing for another hundred years before finally realising that they were going to miss the last train or something.

Before we left, we took a series of random pictures with Irene's Mac.
All those distorted faces type photos, but we all swore that we will never put them up on the Internet so... too bad. :D

Oh, and Irene bought this really cool book (dictionary) about Singlish and it was damn cool okay!
All those words inside sound so familiar!
And of course, there was a really long and elaborate explanation for the word "lah".
Apparently, it is generously sprinkled over almost all types of sentences, added mostly at the end.

I learnt that "lor" has a more negative connotation compared to "lah".
For example, if a person was to say "Can lah!" or "Can lor.", the latter would seem to be more reluctant and unenthusiastic as compared to "Can lah!"

And I also realised that words like "ex" was not actually as universal as I thought.
Well, of course everyone knows that "Her ex just asked her out again!" means "Her ex-boyfriend just asked her out again" but that's not what I'm talking about.

I mean, I always thought everyone in the whole wide world knew that "This book is so ex!" would mean "This book is so expensive!"
But apparently not.
Even Malaysians don't use "ex" in that sense! D:

I am suddenly very fascinated with Singlish words.
Hahahahahaha.
This is so exciting! (:

D:

You know what, MSN is the suckiest thing on Earth.
It sucks even more than a black hole.

IT REFUSED TO DELIVER ANY OF MY MESSAGES.
(I typed those smileys so many times that I lost all and any initial happiness)

ENOUGH SAID.
*screams

Specially for you since its your birthday, I shall let you share Edward with me for just one day :D

Blow out those candles, and look forward to an even greater year ahead!

It's still raining today, and we had no choice but to deliver the catalogues in the rain.
All these people under my service should be eternally grateful that I have been providing them with very informative catalogues weekly for the past half of the year okay.
While they are all happily sleeping in their wonderfully heated houses and rooms and beds, there I was, trudging in the rain, meticulously putting a set of catalogues into each of their letterboxes.

It seems the letters have started arriving at their various letterboxes and I have to thank Irene so much for taking the time to send them for me! (:
When I last talked to her, she told me disgruntledly that she had already attempted to send them 5 times!
But by some twist of fate, all 5 attempts failed miserably.

And she's coming back to Australia tomorrow! Lalalalalala.

Party time!

Remember how I happily blogged yesterday about three fun-filled days ahead of me?

Well, the stupid rain had to go and destroy all my plans.

Bhav's party still took place, but THERE WAS NO SUN.
Okay, I know I said I didn't really intend to run around in the sun anyway, but this was Bhav's birthday party!
And the spiteful sun decided not to show its stupid face on the very day of the party!
Not only was it not sunny, it rained.
Heavily.
That is quite sad, considering the fact that yesterday weather was boiling hot.

I hereby conclude that THE SUN IS JUST A USELESS BALL OF LIGHT which does not show its stupid face when we need it the most.

And the worse thing is that the RAIN also destroyed our plans for our wonderful camping trip under the wonderful sun in a wonderful park and having a wonderful time.

If you get what I mean.
Wonderful weekend has just gone poof into the air and I AM VERY SAD OKAY.

Nevertheless, we still had a great time at the beach (or more like pier actually :D ) today!
HA take that Sun! Lalala.

So we started off the party with a big bang by….. eating!
It was a very very good decision okay, because if we had waited any longer, the rain would have soaked all the pizzas, making them all cold and everything and that wouldn’t have been very… appetizing.

After all we hungry lions were fed, we headed over to the pier...

and marked our territory on a small and cute little shelter right in the middle.

The rest of them went over to watch some of the others fishing, but Tienyi, Richa and I stayed and… watched over the stuff!

Look at all those fishing experts standing around and strategizing about how to catch the maximum amount of fish.
Or perhaps they were just arguing about what movie to watch later that night, I don't know. (:

Meanwhile, Tienyi spent quite some time obsessing over this guy who was standing near us and staring wistfully into the sea….

And also ogled at admired this group of guys who were diving near us.

Okay fine.
Richa and I did too. To a small tiny miniature extent and definitely not as stalkerishly.
It got to the extent where they seemed to realize that we were practically staring (Richa was like, OMG you guys! STOP LOOKING!!) and decided to show off even more.

Although, well, that wasn’t exactly a bad thing because we got to watch even better diving skills.
Tienyi contemplated taking photos of them, but I managed to put a stop to that. (:
There was no need to throw our faces even deeper into the ocean.
For all we knew, they might just start posing for photos, and that would be, you know, rather embarrassing.

So after they left, people from our group also started jumping into the deep blue sea too!
You know, for a person (me) who would never ever jump and splash into the pool unless absolutely necessary, and would do so screaming and kicking so much that unglam would be totally redefined (by me), it was actually really fascinating to watch everyone jump off happily.

Okay, so this is Vinh.

Please, everyone, revel in the awesomeness of my photo-taking skills.
You can’t argue.
This is a great photo okay.
He looks like he’s skiing on water or something.

Bhav looks superrrr cool in this photo!
I caught the picture just as she was tethering on the very edge of the pier and she’s neither standing on the solid wood, flying in the air, nor splashing in the water.

This is Andrew.

It’s really cool, because he dives like a ninja or something. :D

And this is Bhav again.
Bhav’s diving ways are also awesome because she just walks off the pier and shoots into the water like a bullet.
It’s very fascinating to watch, really. (:

After they screamed at us for taking photos of them, we started looking for other blog-worthy photos around us.
We watched plastic bags float off out into nothingness.

Well, you can't really see anything in this photo but if you look really reeeeally closely, there will be this colourful plastic bag floating away with the waves/ripples/water movement.

And we watched pretty motor boats drive/sail/whoosh past us.

When it first left the shore....

And sped off into the horizon.

Of course, no birthday party is ever complete without the cutting of a birthday cake!
Although… I don’t have a picture of it :/
Oh well, it’ll be on Tienyi’s blog after she blogs about today, which, rest assured, she will. :D

We decided to leave at about 4+ since the rain was becoming heavier anyway.
On my way home, just as the bus was about to reach my bus stop, there was this car which broke down in the middle of a slip road, and the bus driver was really kind and went down to help.
Although the reason he did was probably because if he didn’t help, we’ll be stuck there for hours and would cause a huge traffic jam… but that is irrelevant.
He even asked all the guys in the bus to go down and help to push the car away to the side of the road!
So kind right?

Right, so just as I was thinking what a wonderful and sweet bus driver he was, he had to go and destroy all his niceness because HE DID NOT STOP AT MY STOP EVEN THOUGH I PRESSED THE BELL.
Not only did he not let me alight at my stop, HE DID NOT STOP AT THE NEXT ONE EITHER.
D:
I had to walk 2 extra bus stops’ distance in the COLD and WET and HORRIBLE rain okay.

Okay I'm off to continue enjoying the wonders of LJ fics (Seriously, who created them? They must be the world's best invention ever! After computers of course... and handphones. And electricity and... Fine. It's a rather insignificant invention.)

The rain shall not ruin my weekend!
HA!

Plans for the (very) near future

So I have three whole fun-filled days of joy waiting for me this weekend!
Tomorrow will be Bhav's party at the beach which I'm sure will be very fun, because Tienyi and I will be sitting in the shade building sandcastles, taking pictures, and planning our blog entry for the day. :D

It's not really our fault that we're not inclined to run around in the sun and sand like everyone else because, well, what can you say about sun-phobics? (Actually, heliophobes if you want to be technical. We like to think that we're vampires who are afraid of the sun, just so that we have something in common with Edward.)

After the party, I'll have to rush home to collect, prepare and deliver the catalogues before it becomes dark, because.........

I'll be going camping for the weekend! :D

How cool is that?
We'll get to sleep in a tent under the starry starry sky!
The only other time I have done so was 5 years ago at a school camp (For general interest, I'm talking about SPARKc), where they made us all cramp together in a miniature tent which was already falling apart even before we stepped into it.
Needless to say, it wasn't comfortable in the least.

But this time, we have got a hugeeee tent.
(Oh yes, we got this 8 person tent for half price yesterday and it is super satisfying okay, because the discounted ones were placed far away from the original display and I managed to catch sight of them. Or else, we would have bought the 4 person tent. Now we got a tent twice as big for the same price! :)
The tent is even big enough for me to stand up straight in it okay!
I think the height is like 1.85m.

So, as I said, I was at Kmart yesterday looking for camping stuff, and it was really interesting to see how innovative peoeple are.
I mean, they have portable washing machines, toilets, shower kits, kitchens, stoves, beds etc. etc. specially for the purpose of camping!
Really, you can just buy them all and live on the road or something.

Not to mention, I just found this heaven of recommended LJ fics, which was really exciting because not only are they LJ fics, they are GOOOOOOD LJ fics recommended by other obsessed LJ fic readers! :D
*squeals*
I'll finally have a reason for staring at the computer the whole day.

Okay fine, I have already been staring at my comptuer for the past few weeks days but really, for the life of me, I have entirely no idea what I do while staring at the computer.
Which is quite problematic because people tend to ask questions like "So what have you been up to these few days?" to which I have no answer to.

But that shall not happen anymore!
Because now I have a definite goal. I have a vision. I have a definite answer.
I can say that...... I have been reading great works of literature.

And I'm re-reading Commentarius now anyway. It's really addictive. :D

Wednesday, December 10

Welcome! :D

I actually have nothing to blog about but....

OMG NEW DOT!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I'm not sure whether to cry in terror or jump for joy.
Oh well.

Scattered

I actually intended to do the tag on Tienyi's blog (It has 100 questions! It would have been a great way to fill up a post okay.), but I realised that half the questions were the same as the tag I did a few months back, so poof went my great plan for a longggg post today.

Today was quite a happy day because I got a letter from the second hand book sale thing telling me that my books were sold!
*claps hands gleefully*
Although, of course, it wasn't a surprise at all, seeing that my Macbeth book was TOTALLY BRAND NEW and, ahem, I took very good care of my Health book, so obviously, people were even fighting to get my books. :D

So my school fund (account?) now has a total of......... $44!
Isn't it just so exciting?
It will pay for about... ONE of my excursions -.-

It's quite sad, because it has been quite a few days that I have been resolving to finally start cleaning the horror scene that is my room, but obviously, it never happened.
The fact that I told myself I will start my homework after cleaning did not help (at all) in motivating me to start picking up all those.. things thrown all over my bedroom floor.

I guess the closer we get to the ONE YEAR mark, the more things I remember, and think fondly of.
I am actually starting to miss 2008 now that 2009 is a mere 3 weeks away.
2009 will mean Year 12.
We'll be jumping head first into the wonderful world of SACs, with the ENGLISH ORAL starting the ball rolling.

Year 12 sucks. D:

Just the thought of how things were makes me smile. I don't know what I miss, I definitely do not miss my foolishness.... Maybe I do. I miss how one single monotonic reply from you can make me radiate with happiness. I miss how thrilling it was to seek you out in the midst of all the rest, even if it was just a glimpse of you walking to your class.. somewhere, someplace. I don't know what I miss, but I definitely miss how you could put a smile on my face without even knowing it.

For old times' sake (:

So I got bored, and took out all those CDs that Ms Ngiam gave us and laughed at all those young and youthful faces times.
That photo was particularly hilarious because Bryant looked like he was.... pole-dancing?!?! (I'm sorry, there's really no other word to describe it :)
HAHAHAHAHAHA. :D

And I found videos that I never even knew exsisted!
The video of the Saint and the City that we played during Moments was of special interest because.. well, that was the one song that we screwed up so majorly that if "looks could kill, we would have died on stage." (Cliched, I know, but it's true. Really.)

Listening to the frivolous way we played it then, it was funny to imagine that the audience had no way of seeing how angry Mr Goh was!
Though if you looked really carefully, during those cringe-worthy moments when we slowed down quite a fair bit, he was waving his arms around with... big sweeping movements.
I'm guessing that at that moment, he looked just about ready to bite all our heads off. ):

This is quite a funny photo, because I have absolutely no recollection of it AT ALL.
I don't know why, but I find the blurry faces really cool!
(Maybe because Vanessa looks like she is laughing insanely :D )

On a very different note, I am actually really excited for Christmas to arrive because I have never actually celebrated Christmas with http://www.just-lynn.blogspot.com/ before!
Ever!
So this shall be my first time actually posting something on my blog on Christmas day.
Or even New year in fact. :D

OMG Christmas is in 3 weeeeeeeeeeks!
I don't know why, it suddenly feels so exciting this year!
*runs out to look at neighbour's awesomely prettyyyyy Christmas lights display* :D
