Guilt

The more I think about it, the heavier the guilt seems to weigh.

I'm sorry I wasn't a better friend.
I really don't know what to say, but... You're strong. I know you are.

Haircut! (:

I know all of you missed me sooooooooo much!!!
RIGHT!!

*silence*

Okay ignore that.
I have about 20 minutes on the computer, so we shall just talk about a very exciting piece news!

I CUT MY HAIR!!!!!

YAY.
Okay its not so much cut short like the last HORRIBLY DISASTROUS haircut I had.
So I walked into the er, haircutting place (what is it called??) and told the person that I wanted to thin and layer my hair.
Just my luck, the person didn't understand English.
So she sort of shoved this hairdressing book at me and made me point out a hairstyle I wanted.

One thing I hate about hair salons is how they make you choose a hairstyle from the millions of magazines.
Well, yes true, the hairdresser do need you to show them exactly what you want, but the photos are all photoshoots!
How am I supposed to know if a particular hairstyle suits me?
Even if I showed them that I wanted a particular hairstyle, chances are the end result wouldn't even look half as nice as it does in the photo.

Anyway, so I had no choice, and chose the first picture I saw that had thin and layered hair.
As usual, she made me take out my specs, so I couldn't see what she was doing to my hair at all.
When she finally finished, and I put on my specs, I GOT A SHOCK OF MY LIFE.
Okay well, not really that would mean I had become bald, but, no I wasn't.
ANYWAY, my hair was the most layered I have ever had it!
And she spiked it so much and I looked so emofied.

Which must be pretty hard to imagine because Lynn is so NOT emo.

AND SHE FREAKING CHEATED MY MONEY.
HUMPH.
She actually told me it would cost $10 before she started cutting, but in the end, she took $15 from me. ):

But this is still loads better than my last cut, so I have nothing to complain about. (:

Bloggers' Day!

This is the first time I'm blogging like two posts almost immediately after!
But I know my loyal fans (and fellow bloggers) are waiting for the post about yesterday!!
I decided to just post without waiting for the photos from the others! (:

As you all know, Tienyi, the obsessed dedicated blogger decided to organise an outing called Bloggers' Day Out, where we would all go out together, come back home and blog about them.

This is actually a well hidden ploy to make us all blog about something in common.
But anyway. (:

The initial plan was for us to wreck havoc in Tienyi's house, but somehow, everyone suddenly decided that the beach would be better.
Well, not everyone.
Tienyi and I had this feeble attempt to dissuade them, but obviously, it failed.
Imagine fighting against 5 other very enthusiastic beach-goers.

So... yes. The beach.

It was a bright and sunny day, which was good in a sense.
Imagine if it started raining the moment we reached.

But I don’t think we strong and resilient bloggers would have been deterred anyway.
I imagine we would start dancing in the rain.
Tienyi would probably find it romantic to dance in the drizzle, by the seaside.

Anyway, for some reason, they started doing cartwheels the moment we reached.

This is Bhav.

This is Siu (with Nancy, who also cartwheeled, but I didn't manage to get a picture of.)

And… erm. This is Tienyi (after a failed attempt at a cartwheel.)

Then we decided to look for gold (or maybe skeletons, they're more sensational).
And started digging.

And digging.

And threw Bhavjeet in and went off......

Taking her out only after an hour of sleep.

Okay we didn't.
She willingly went in okay.
In fact, she looked rather happy to be buried.
Maybe we should really have left her and went off for a swim in the clear blue sea.

Tienyi and Nancy had sort of a Bollywood/Hollywood moment where they pretended to be two lovers who met each other after 10 years.
Or maybe they could have been two shipwrecked people who meet each other at an island and are overjoyed to be stranded together.

Realising that the water was too cold, we decided to take many pictures on the beach itself!
After all, that's what Bloggers' Day is about isn't it? (:

Tienyi agreed to pose like this while we all took photos of her.
She must have felt like a superstar. (:

Tienyi and Siu.

Irene and Lynn!

Irene, Shireen and Bhav. Sorry Irene, that your face is sort of obstructed.

Yoga masters meditating on the beach.

Nice right? :DD
(I'm still looking for the variation of this. The one with more people inside. Is it with Bhav? :)

Shireen and Siu found this jellyfish lying on the beach and brought it to some puddle of water, in an attempt to revive it from the dead.
But sadly, it failed.

This was an unintended photo.
Irene fiddled with my camera, and when I tried taking a jumpshot of them, this came out.
And it looks SO CUTE! (:

Of course, what's a trip to the beach without building sandcastles?
They destroyed the sandcastle before I could take a picture of it, so here's all I have from Irene's camera.

This is already a really great achievement, seeing as we did this by hand!
We didn't have any of those kiddy sandcastle sets.
This is purely by our talent. (Ok so it was mostly Siu who made the sandballs and the 90degree walls.)

We actually had this really wonderful moat around our mound of sand castle but like I said, they destroyed it before I could take a picture. ):

We finally left the beach at about 5, bidding farewell to the blazing sun and the large expanse of sand. (:

The downside of airmail

I'll be posting about yesterday's Bloggers' Day in a sec, but this is IMPORTANT RANTING NEWS!
Though the post didn't turn out to be as joyous and celebratory as I had imagined.
But anyway,

Youngmin and Cheryl's mail finally arrived!

I was initially very excited to see the package in the letterbox.
It was really exciting you know, that for once, I actually went to open the letterbox and it was inside.

Then the bubble of happiness burst WITH A VERY LOUD POP.

BECAUSE THE STUPID $%%#$#!%@#@ QUARANTINE FREAKING CONFISCATED SOMETHING FROM INSIDE.

I opened the package to see many many many letters drop out, and one of them was this lovely letter from Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service.

Ahhhh.
The reason for the ridiculously long delay has finally surfaced.

And it was kinda scary because the first sentence in the letter screamed "Your mail did not meet Australian quarantine requirements" in big bold letters.
When I saw that I was like.. er. shit?

So apparently, there was something that they thought were "likely to introduce exotic pests or diseases into Australia."
And they gave me three options. I can either:

1) arrange for AQIS to treat the items and post them back to me (which will take about 8 weeks.)
2) let them return the items to the sender.
3) let AQIS keep it and enjoy MY present happily (Okay so they didn't say it that way. It was more like, the items will be destroyed.)

Did I mention, options 1 or 2 would cost $42.50?

Yeah, I didn't read the letter properly at first, so I was sort fuming there and cursing them for confiscating part of my present., while wondering what on earth they had confiscated.
Then I saw that they mentioned the thing that they confisticated was some sort of tea containing citus peel.
And I was like, er, what?!
Youngmin! You sent me tea leaves?!?!

Then it sort of made sense why they confiscated because they always kept emphasising that plants will never be allowed into Australia, whether dead or alive.

So now, I feel guilty for not telling Youngmin about what can and cannot be sent, because it has created a hell lot of trouble and misery. (Not to mention ALSO creating such a traumatic experience for me. The big and bold sentence is still fresh in my mind. I might probably have nightmares about it.)

So I have 30 days to consider my options.

Oh and JY? You're sooooooooo lucky that you decided not to send the mooncake (LOL) because it would have been confiscated too.
They CLAIM that such food will be withheld for quarantine reasons BUT I KNOW that they will happily eat it lor.
HUMPH.

But ANYWAY. The rest of the present are awesome!
They made this notebook with lettters painstakingly cut out to form words!

(Haha with a picture of my face stolen from Tienyi's blog? :D)

A photo frame with their picture. (:

And this whole stack of letters from Youngmin (Cheryl too?), for me to open one every month of next year.

I sorta just realised that April, September and November are missing.
Was that intentionally, or were those the ones with the tea leaves?

Although I might not have received it fully, its still as awesome!
THANK YOU YOUNGMIN AND CHERYL! (:
(Don't be sad that I can't receive the, er, tea leaves okay! I'm really sorry. Next time I'll send you the phamplet! So you'll know what's not allowed, then no more such disappointment would occur. :D)

Death threats actually do work, don't they?

The postman must have heard my death threat on my tagboard because............
My wonderful wonderful card finally arrived! :DDDDDDD

Thank you Vanessa, Bryant and Aloisius! :DDDDDDD
It doesn't matter that its belated, I STILL LOVE IT! Heheeeeee.

Figures.
The very day I'm not at home to wait for him, when I can't spy him from my window, when I can't physically see him put the letters into the box, it arrives.
I WANTED TO SEE IT IN MY LETTERBOX!
And I wanted to be the one taking it out from the letterbox, beaming like a mad woman.

Oh well.
Its okay. I am contented enough.

But not quite.

Where is Youngmin AND Cheryl's present?!?!?!?!?!?!

Maybe I should announce another death threat.
Hey MR POSTMAN, if Cheryl AND Youngmin's present doesn't arrive tomorrow, I'm gonna kidnap you and cook you for my pet tiger's dinner.
HA if you don't want to be eaten, you better post my present by tomorrow!

I want to see it when I come back from Bloggers' Day tomorrow okay!!!
Or else.... HEH HEH.

(I'm sure all of you are wondering what Bloggers' Day is! More details tomorrow. Hehehehe.)

An obsession with blogskins

Changed blogskin!

I think I have an obsession with changing skins, which seems to relapse occasionally.
But I think the previous one lasted quite long no? (:

I felt a sudden need to change, but was lazy to dig through blogskins.com for a nice and pretty blogskin, because I'm just that picky, and it'll probably take me a few days to find one.
So I just looked through all the downloaded and rejected skins from long long long time ago and look!

Recycled and pretty skins came up! Heheeeee.

Hating the postman with a passion

I felt so accomplished yesterday because.........

I cleaned up my room! :D

Though halfway through doing so I got bored and decided to sign into MSN, which turned out to be much more interesting than the mess I had made.
Therefore, the second half of the mass-cleaning session became more like mass-hiding session.
I just sort of... stuffed everything in their boxes, drawers, and tada!! CLEAN ROOM!

Had an.. interesting conversation with Alloy last night:

"2.09.08 A.lloy says:
lynn
2.09.08 A.lloy says:
go to kangaroo's mental hospital
EVILynn says:
kangaroos are intelligent
EVILynn says:
and can box and kick people
EVILynn says:
careful i might kick you one day and you'll fly off to the next planet
2.09.08 A.lloy says:
pluto is not a planet
EVILynn says:
who said anything about pluto?
EVILynn says:
maybe i want to kick you to jupiter
EVILynn says:
and you'll meet your wonderful alien friends there

2.09.08 A.lloy says:
(emoticon of monkeys runing around)
2.09.08 A.lloy says:
(those are) my friends
EVILynn says:
maybe i can just kick you to the zoo
EVILynn says:
its nearer
EVILynn says:
no need so much strength"

Where we concluded that he prefers to be called a monkey, like his friends. (:

Met jy on msn too last night and I got to see her by webcam!! :DDDD
And she showed me that she had a picture we took at the airport behind her ezlink card!!
Wah, so touched la. (:

They told me that..... they still haven't send my present over yet. LOL.
Its okay, I'll wait patiently.

The $%#$#%@ postman didn't bring my present today AGAIN.
Now that vv tells me they have also sent a card, I am waiting all the more eagerly for the postman!
But yet again, he has disappointed me. ):

I seriously think that he is stealing all my post.
What other reason is there that Audrey's mail (which was sent on 15th) is already here and Cheryl/Youngmin's mail (which was sent on 13th two days earlier) is STILL NOT HERE.

My mum told me to stop waiting for the postman.
Only then will he come.
That's just a warped logic of life.
Like how you can never find something you're urgently looking for, like how you can never get a taxi when you really need one, like how your teacher never fails to come to school whenever you have a test to take etc etc.

Okay then. I DON'T WANT TO SEE THE POSTMAN'S FACE.
I HATE THE POSTMAN. HUMPH.

Crying in the rain

The postman came.

But without my present. ):

Now let me go and wallow in the sadness of it all.

Of birthday wishes and the postman.

Happy birthday VANESSA!! :DDDDD
Too bad didn't get a chance to send you the colour pencils.
Hope you get the card in time though. Heheeee. (I was, ahem, kinda delayed in sending it. But no matter.)

Now waiting eagerly for the postman.
He likes to take his time. ):

Healesville Sanctuary!

Blogger was being stupid yesterday and refused to let me edit my post.
But at least it’s fixed up now, so yeah, I changed it abit.

Anyway, we went to Healesville Sanctuary today!
It was sort of the same as the Melbourne Zoo, and I thought it would have been as horrible.
But it turned out not that bad, and I think maybe I might have been too fast in judging the zoo just by one random school trip.
We might go there (the zoo) again some other time, probably during summer, so at least the animals won't be in hiding anymore.

So.... on with today's trip!
We spent.. 7 hours walking around there.
Tiring though. :D

The feeding times all were not really organised according to the locations and we sort of spent the time running around the whole place so that we would not miss them.
And I am proud to say that we managed to watch ALL OF THEM! :DDDD

It was really cool because I had just studied about the behaviours of animals in the latest bio chapter.
Words like innate behaviour, nocturnal, marsupial, and animals like wombats, dingoes, lyrebirds, spinnifix hopping mouse etc. seemed so familiar.
Finally, I have found a use for these chapters which I had thought were totally useless. Hehe.

Just some of the nicer pics we took today.
The others are just random pictures here and there and I won't bother posting them all.

So we saw many native animals like the dingoes (which actually looked really nice, and so not like the pictures in the bio textbook)

The wombat!
Which was so much bigger than I thought it would be.
It was like, this whole round ball of fur. Hahaha.
Adorable.

The kangaroooooooooooooos!

We were allowed to feed them some carrots and stuff.
And they weren’t violent like how kangaroos are normaly portrayed in movies.
There was this long-time-ago movie which showed kanagaroos going around boxing people.
(Okay well maybe they’re only friendly because they’re trained. But anyway.)

Look!
It was looking right at the camera and would have been a great shot if not for the #$%@$@ stupid boy who walked in front of the camera just as my dad took the picture.

Pelicans.
Not really that amazing but yeah, anyway.

Bats hanging from the top of the enclosure!
Seeing them reminded me of that time I went to Night Safari with the band and walked into the bat enclosure with JY and ZH, where ZH screamed when the bat flew near her. :D

And…………………
KOALAS!!!
OMG they were so round and cuteeeeeeeeeeeeee.

See this is the female koala sleeping on the tree.
(Like I said before, sleep is practically all they do. Other than eat.)

This is the male one!

It was eating! HURRAY.
The keeper told us that they spend around about 20 hours everyday sleeping, so that means I had a 1 in 6 chance of seeing them awake.
And I did!!!!!
I am SO LUCKY. LOL.

Two koalas sleeping on the trunk.
They refused to turn towards the camera, so I just had to take a photo of their butts. -.-

The long-awaited

[Edited]

I came home happily today, anticipating the time where I can finally post about yesterday but the STUPID INTERNET CONNECTION spoilt my mood and disconnected like, every minute, making me unable to upload all the required photos. ):

BUT… OF COURSE I PERSERVERED AND HERE IT IS!!
My persistence is only due to the overwhelming amount of people eagerly awaiting this post. :D

First of all………
I REALLY WAITED UNTIL 12AM ON THE DOT TO OPEN YICHIEN’S PRESENT!
Me is pro. Me is patient. Me has willpower.

This is what I had to stare at for ten whole days.

And these are the contents! So cooooooooool right!
She bought me my dream markers, or so Tienyi calls them.
I love those double ended markers!
And AND 4 months ago, she had promised to send me the Moments’ brochure, which had my pretty face in it, and she really remembered to put it in! (:

Of course, the highlight of the day, and probably what you all want to read about is my birthday party!
Or gathering, sort of.

I was supposed to arrive at Tienyi’s house at 1pm.
Being on time, I left my house at about 1.50 and walked over to her house.
When I was about within a minute of reaching the destination, Irene called me and MADE me go back home because apparently, they were not ready yet!!!
Horrible horrible people made me walk all the way back home, up the horrible horrible slope when I was practically at the doorstep already. ):

Anyway, it was worth the one hour wait/delay because when I finally reached, they had set up the table with lovely cupcakes, which they lovingly baked for yours truly!! :DDDDD

Which, well, they then forced me to take a picture with.

The original plan was to watch dvds.
But of course, such things never go according to plan.
After eating our wonderful lunch, we then proceeded to Tienyi’s room, with them presenting me with their gift, also made with sweat and tears and blood!

The card is sooooooooooooooo cool!
And I love it la.
Now I can stare at their faces everyday.
LOL.
Okay kidding.
Don’t worry for my sanity.

And a snowglobe!!!
Cuteeeeee.
I know people like JY will probably be laughing their heads off at the COW.
What's with cows and me?!
Nevermind, I like cute cows. :D

Dancing then commenced!!
Well, at least, the rest danced.
Being the birthday girl, I was immune and could sit there and laugh at them without being attacked by said dancers.

And I was kidding.
I didn’t have to laugh because….. they were all great dancers!

Yeah, I never knew they had such hidden talent in them.
Of course, today, Yih Rue tells me that she must have been mad to have been actually dancing yesterday.
But with the celebrative atmosphere filling up the room to the brim yesterday, it didn’t seem all that crazy.

I don’t know any of the songs they danced to.
The only song I recognised was the Macarena.

They initially tried to prevent us spectators from taking any incriminating photos by turning away whenever the light from my camera flashed.

But as you can see, Irene's reaction was rather slow.

She was still happily dancing away while the rest had already turned back, to prevent their faces from being seen.

Don't worry Irene, those are really nice candid pictures. :D

Words cannot really express great you guys all are, for planning this awesome party, spending the whole week doing up the extra big card, and baking those cute little cupcakes!
For that, THANK YOU Bhavjeet, Irene, Richa, Sheryl, Shireen, Tienyi, Yih Rue and Rachel (who, unfortunately, couldn't make it to the party 'cause she was sick)!!!! :DDDDDD

In addition, THANK YOU to:

- My parents, who gave me what I really need and want, a pencilcase and a watch! (:
People like Shireen and Yih Rue really know how much I do need a watch, what with me always asking them what the time was.

- My aunty, who sent her present over by express mail so that it could reach me in time.

And its personalised too!

- Melody, who drew this card all by herself (and its really nice too!), together with this, erm, round thing which she thought was supposed to be a swiss roll, but was apparently a rolled-up towel.

- Yih Rue, who dedicated this balloon to me and wrote this on the balloon even with all the awful squeaking sounds the marker produced when it came into contact with the rubbery balloon.

- Bhavjeet, who used up quite an amount of energy and persistance twisting Tienyi's clothes hanger, making it into the shape of "Lynn".

- Sheryl, who gave me two notebooks in the hope that I would jot down Chemistry notes in them and bring them around with me wherever I went so that I could study them. (okay, kidding.)

- Alloy, who tagged on my blog 17 times, and email me 17 birthday emails to mark my wonderful 17th birthday.

(my inbox was flooded)

- AUDREY, whose present arrived a teeny weeny bit late, but nevertheless bringing with it what I wished for, a pencilcase (Now I have two brand new pencilcases to choose from!) and a very lovely handmade birthday card.

(They're both the same pencilcase, just different side.)

- Irene, who really granted my "wish" and posted a birthday essay for me on her blog! (:

And Yichien, Youngmin, Cheryl, Agnes, Tienyi, Shireen, Aisyah, Aloisius, Melody, Irene, Richalynn, Narita, Bhavjeet, Jian Yun, Vanessa, Enrique, Lahari, Xinqi, Dominic and Gloria for the birthday tags and emails!

I love birthday wishes. (Though no complaints to presents either. xD)

Thank you all! :DDDD

Incidentally, for general public interest (read: Youngmin and Cheryl) the three anonymous taggers, Happy, Thanks, and Iwishyou have now reavealed their identity.
The first two, Happy and Thanks, are by my Aunty, who sent me the personalised bear above.
And.........
Iwishyou is AUDREY POH.
Yes, sneaky Audrey who shares the same birthday as me, sneaky Audrey who saw the first two anon tags and got insipired, leading to her decision to impersonate the anon tagger.

(I created this post at 4.22, and posted this at 6.07. Do the math. :)
