i realise i have been blogging very often.
practically been using the com almost everyday.

anyway, i couldn't resist the urge to use the com today.
today is leap year day!
lol.
but dunno why it seems like not very long ago that there was a 29th of february.
one of the teachers told us that on leap year day, it is kind of like a tradition for girls to ask guys to marry them.
HAHA.
that sounds wrong.
i mean like, normally, the guy has to propose.
but on leap year day, only on leap year day, its okay for the girls to propose!
just a random fact that i learnt today.
yesterday, i suddenly wanted to read all the smses in my old phone.
so i took it out, charged it and read.
it kind of brought back all the memories.
it was nice. (: though it mde me depressed for the rest of the day.
i had forgotten about how weeks before i left i had been smsing alloy alot, coz he had unlimited free smses.
reading it all again was hilarious!

YAY so we won't have school tomorrow.

the teachers who are part of the Australian Education Union are gonna be having a strike for four hours in the morning, so we will only be having like one lesson.
which, come to think of it, is rather stupid coz that would mean that we will be going all the way to school for just that 45 minutes of lesson.
that's like ...
and yeah, my tests for tomorrow are postponed already.
it makes me happy if i think short term - i won't have to study like mad today.
but it makes me depressed if i think long term - that would mean i will be having five freaking tests next week.

yay i'm back. xD
suprisingly, this is one of the camps where i don't really feel like sleeping immediately after i'm back.
hahaha.
normally, i would.
i think its because this is like the first camp i have been to that gives us like, so much free time.
that was kinda cool.
when i reached school on weds and saw all the people with their big bags, i was like omg.
some even brought pillows la!
hahahahaha.
and yih rue and shireen were like kept saying my bag is so small.
xD
at first i packed 4 shirts, but in the end, just before i left my house, i got worried and stuffed another one in.
lol.
i'm so proud of my skills in packing.
the bus ride took so long.
we stopped at Cowes for lunch.
i had brought lunch from home!
but i so stupidly forgot to bring it onto the bus with me.
i had left it in my bag, which was in the storage area at the base of the bus.
yes.
i'm stupid.
reached campsite, put our stuff in our room.
5 in a room.
there were two bunk beds and a double bed.
first time i go for a camp that provided beds.
lol.
i was with yih rue, irene, rachel and shireen.
it wasn't exactly a surprise.
coz we kinda chose it to be like this.
har har.
it was raining, so we couldn't do our first activity, which was initiative.
hahahaha.
its this teamwork game where we're supposed to carry some dummy without touching the ground.
so we had loads of free time.
after that we went to the beach.
its was so nice!
the waves are really nice.
very... big waves.
and big beach too. :D
that night we went to the penguin parade!
so exciting.
but the sad thing was we couldn't take photos. ):
so we just went in and sat there waiting for them to come out.
hahaha.
felt kinda stupid though.
like there's this whole group of people sitting there facing the sea waiting to see the penguins swim ashore.
lol.
after an eternity of waiting, they finally came.
ahhhh so cute la.
the ones we saw were the smallest of the species.
then as we walked back up to the entrance, we got to see them really up close.
yay. xD
on thursday, our first activity was written as "ball games/pool" in the timetable.
so we all stupidly thought that we were supposed to play ball games in the pool.
in the pool filled with freezing water.
we were like freezing in the water for so long, then we realised that what the timetable meant was we can either play ball games or play in the pool.
yup.
i am stupid, again.
anyway, so our next activity was rafting!
i found that one of the best ones.
our activity group consisted of like, the five of us and 12 other guys.
yup so we were split into two and we were each to build a raft with some poles and ropes.
yih rue was with me.
and at first we did this really crap raft which was obviously not gonna work.
one of the guys were like telling us "get ready for a swim in the lake"
the way he said it was hilarious.
in the end we changed our mind and copied the other group's.
heh heh.
the thing was, they thought theirs would work, and we thought ours won't work and what actually happened was surprisingly, theirs fell apart the moment they sat on it, and ours stayed intact.
YAY.
it was funny how at first we had lots of trouble figuring out who sat where so as to balance our raft.
but in the end we made it and won the raft competition hands down.
heh heh heh.
my group is great, coz we have like a scout and a girl guide in it.
hahaha.
so their rope-tying skills helped us. xD
had lunch and our next activity was the flying fox.
it looked so cool la.
we took turns and i went with rachel.
climbing up the ladder to go to the starting point of the flying fox was scary.
and also when we had to kick off.
i was hesitating to kick off, but after that it was not bad.
but it wasn't as fast as i expected.
had canoeing later.
they all abandoned me. ):
hahaha.
we had to cannoe in pairs and rachel went with irene and yih rue went with shireen.
and there was no other girls left in the group. ):
so the teacher went to get one guy, Tim, and asked me to go with him.
hahaha.
he was actually quite nice la.
i was kinda lucky that he was rather good at canoeing, since like, i have never ever canoed before.
lol.
so we went around trying to capsize other people but we only managed to knock into their cannoes.
and his friends started throwing mud at him and he decided to retaliate and ran off.
i was abandoned, again.
sigh.
i had to walk around in the super muddy lake picking up all the stuff that they left behind.
in the end i had to throw my shoes away.
lol.
oh we finally had rice for dinner.
hahaha.
i missed eating rice. (:
there wasn't evough time for everyone to do all the activities so nobody got to do everything.
for my group, we weren't scheduled for the giant swing and the high rope course.
i'm kinda glad too.
coz the giant swing is something like some free fall thing, and the high ropes course was something like the rope course in the sparkc camp we went for in sec one.
so today we only had one activity, which was the maze.
we went to this place where it had some really interesting stuff, abit like a science centre kinda thing.
it was so cool la.
actually i found them more interesting than the maze.
the maze was like crap.
we didn't really stay in the maze for very long.
but overall it was not bad.
after that had our last meal then packed everything and prepared to leave.
my bus was like the second bus to leave, out of about 5 buses.
the very sad thing that happened was, while we were already about 15-20 mins away from the campsite, we were told that there was enough space for the remaining people in their buses and we had to turn back to pick them up.
and the sadder thing was that we went all the way back and when we reached, we were told that the problem was already solved and we actually did not need to go back.
that was so @#$%#$ la.
from being the second bus, we became the last bus. ):
i found that i brought many things to the camp which i didn't even use.
mainly it was the sleeping bag, which i didn't even remove from the bag.
and i had two shirts which i didn't use at all either.
shouldn't have brought them.
wasted my energy. xD
okay i'm off to rest.

but today rachel said that it was because their camp is a week long.

anyway, so i was kinda asking around how many shirts people were bringing.
since the camp packing list that our school gave us was like, so vague and didn't specify how many they recommended us to bring.
how are we supposed to know whether the activities we are going to have would make our shirts, who knows, super muddy and what not.
everyone said they were bringing like, 4 or 5.
sheryl even said she was bringing 7.

woke up like super early to go for the band in my school today.
walked in and saw some ppl setting up.
went to ask this guy who seemes to be a teacher of some sort whether i could join if i don't take the music lessons, so he asked me what i played.
i told him.
and he was like, "well, you can join. but you would have to be good because most of the people here take the lessons, so if you don't take them, you might find that you're lagging behind."
wth?!
the tone of how he said it was just so irritating.
he didn't seem very nice. ):
anyway, so he asked me to speak to the music director.
the music director was so much nicer.
he too asked me what i played and when i told him trombone, he was like, "perfect, we need a trombone player!"
YAY a trombone player is needed.
hahaha.
but the sad, very sad thing was that... they do not have instruments.
like, since most of the people who join are people who are taking lessons and stuff, they have their own instruments.
those lessons are 30 x 30minutes one-to-one lessons at $660 a year.
though its not compulsory.
so for those who don't have their own instruments, they have to rent from the school.
like !!!
so its either i buy my own trombone, or hire one from the school
to hire is like, $250.
and what's more i still have to pay to join the band, which is like, $60.
so minimum, i have to pay $310 just to join and play.

happy valentine's day~ (:
house swimming sports today.
went to school usual time and took the bus to the swimming pool.
there was this indoor pool, which is rather warm, but it wasn't big enough to accomodate all the students, so it was held at the outdoor one.
the weather was so cold la. ):
and i stupidly forgot to bring my sweater.
so there were no stands.
it was just like, an area of grass at the side of the pool, much like a picnic ground, for everyone to sit at.
so we rotted there for the whole time, from about 9 to 1+.
actually, though the swimming was kinda like, the whole point of the outing, it seemed nobody really cared about the swimming itself.
the participants were just swimming and swimming and everyone else was just either sitting, sleeping, or walking around.
haha i didn't even know what was happening in the pool.

i might have prefered having school.

i think its a symphonic band.
it seems kinda weird to me, that they are before school instead of after.
what's even weirder is that the practice is only an hour?!
like, what can be done in an hour?
by the time we're actually really warmed up, time is up.

anyway, so most prob i'll be going for the practice next monday to just look around and see if its interesting enough for me to consider joining. xD

we were going to take a level photo!
at first i was thinking that will be so cool.
like so many people taking a photo together.
i was so disappointed when i found out that they were going to cheat.
they made us all take turns and take photos in groups of fours.
and they were going to combine all of the photos using photoshop and make it seem like we all took the photo together.

there we were lining up for our turn and all the people who arrived later than us cut queue and went in front of us.

today in school some people were going around wishing the chinese people happy new year.
we were in the VCE office and there was this girl who said happy new year to us as we walked in.
for a while we didn't really connect happy new year with cny so we were kinda looking at her like what is she talking about.
and she was like, isn't it your new year today?

i can't feel the atmosphere of cny here. ):
i miss the red-ness of the entire chinatown.

today in english class, my teacher was going through how to write the essays for our folios.
its about personal journeys.

anw, so she gave us an assignment on the book that they did last year in Year 10.
and i was so shocked to realise that that book was actually Of Mice and Men!
omg la.
i thought bbss was one of the only schools to like, actually use that book.
which i didn't really find very interesting.
its creepy how bbss seems rather similar to my school now.
the HOM stuff.
and now Of Mice and Men.

so there were a couple of us new students so we didn't get to learn Of Mice and Men last year with the rest.
i kinda cheated and told the teacher i never learn it before also.

so she asked me what book i've done before.
i didn't want to say Macbeth coz it was what we were supposed to be learning later this year and i rather her not knowing that i've done it before.

today in english class, my teacher was going through how to write the essays for our folios.
its about personal journeys.
lol.
anw, so she gave us an assignment on the book that they did last year in Year 10.
and i was so shocked to realise that that book was actually Of Mice and Men!
omg la.
i thought bbss was one of the only schools to like, actually use that book.
which i didn't really find very interesting.
its creepy how bbss seems rather similar to my school now.
the HOM stuff.
and now Of Mice and Men.
lol.
hahaha.
so there were a couple of us new students so we didn't get to learn Of Mice and Men last year with the rest.
i kinda cheated and told the teacher i never learn it before also.
hahaha.
well, its not really lying, coz i can't remember the story at all.
the only thing i remember about it is Lennie and his mouse.
and George killing Lennie in the end.
hahahahaha.
so she asked me what book i've done before.
i didn't want to say Macbeth coz it was what we were supposed to be learning later this year and i rather her not knowing that i've done it before.
so i was like... no choice but to say JLC, and of couse, as expected, she has never read it before.
i think she doesn't even know the JLC exists.
LOL.
so i had to say Macbeth in the end.
as expected, she was so excited when i said Macbeth.

now she's gonna think that since i have studied Macbeth before, i should be doing well in class.

long day at school today.
we had lessons for every single subject!
english was.... funny.
HAHA my english teacher's kinda cool in a way.
like how she can be talking real nicely and suddenly she can just blow up and get real angry and later, become nice again.
and the guys in my class kept talking and talking and she got fed up with them and started screaming at them.
shocked us all abit, the way she was screaming.
hahaha.
so we had to sign up for the cabins for camp today.
the school allows us to choose who we want to share our cabins with for camp.
so its not bad.
the camp will be at Phillip's Island!
heh heh gonna see the penguins!
yay. xD
there'll also be this swiming event thing on Valentine's Day and its kinda compulsory for all Year 11s and 12s to go, although we don't need to participate in any event.
kinda like the swimming carnival thing we had in sec 4 i guess. [or was it sec 3?]
oh wells, at least a day off from school! (:

i miss going to school with xinqi. sitting in the morning withthe usual group of us 2e5 girls. the morning assembly every day. sitting in class with cheryl, junyang, wee cheng, carryl, sherrie, deborah and michelle around me for almost the whole day. crapping with them, especially cheryl during lessons. going for recess with cheryl and youngmin and eating from the purple plate stall, although i always say i won't ever eat from there again. smsing ppl in class. looking out at the field and laughing at people who are having pe lessons. watching the bukit timah pri students go in and out of the school hall everyday. the chinese lessons.argh.
i miss band. falling in. sitting between bryant and alloy. hearing bryant and deyong blast the whole practice away. the absurd conversations we used to have in between playing our parts. how bryant always said he hated all the songs an how they all sucked. the intensive practices for syf and concert, somehow, they were great. forgetting all the stress of school work and just playing my trombone. my trombone. the sectionals. the falling out. going home and waiting for the bus home together with jy, dy, yc, zh, and somethimes gh and jx.
many other things, i just can't name them all.

been three days since, kind of getting used to it already.
at least, better than the first day. (:
but its like, so tiring to walk around the whole school after every class.
since here they use the homeroom system, so every class is at a different place.
some more if one teacher dismisses us late, we'll kinda have to rush all the way to the next lesson so as not to get scolded for being late.
and the interesting thing is that we cannot bring our bags along.
we must put it in our lockers and only carry the books on our hand.
omg today my first three periods were like, general maths, maths methods and chemistry.
i almost died carrying the books.
they are SO thick and heavy! ):
i'll be like studying macbeth again for english lesson.
like .....
i just did that for two whole years for lit in sec 3 and 4.
now i'm doing it again.
hahaha.
shouldn't have thrown away the notes la! ):
but the maths seem rather easy though.
for now.
i made the mistake of taking standard instead of advanced.
so now, they are starting with linear equations and simultanuous equations.
like x + y = 7, 2x + 3y = 15, solve for x and y that kinda thing. XD
i walked home from school yesterday.
it took 40 mins.
finally its friday.
two days off from school (:
